The 105th District has only been around for one year, and they only have three councils, but look at what they’ve accomplished!

San Patricio Council’s first blood drive received 139 pints.

San Patricio also had a function to promote organ donation.

Papa Juan Pablo II Council constructed a ramp for St. Mary of the Isle Church.

San Bonifacio held a joint blood drive with fellow Freeport Council Archbishop Molloy.

All three councils combined to hold two rallies to support Brother Knights who were the victim of bias attacks.

And on Sunday April 18th they held their first Communion Breakfast.

 

Chaminade High School, who have formed Blessed William Chaminade Squires Circle, the first school-based Circle in Nassau County.


Joe Mattina, PGK for Our Lady of the Island Council. He created and runs their council website, www.kofc6911.org. Joe won the New York State Award for best council website in New York State.


St. Raymond’s Parish, who recently re-named their annual CYO track meet the Steve Higgins Memorial Track Meet, in honor of a long-time good friend to Nassau’s Knights. Higgins’ son Dan is now a Fraternal Benefits Counselor with the Connolly Agency.


The new 105th District, who continues to get recognition at the State level. Papa Juan Pablo II Council 14259 took first place for NYS Service Program Award for Church Service, and second place for Council Public Relations. The district will also be getting a new member, Nuestra Senora de Loreto # 15025.


Tom Liddy of New Hyde Park Council, completed a successful year as Faithful Navigator for Pope John XXIII Assembly. His father, also named Tom, was Faithful Navigator for the Assembly in ’86-’87 the first such father and son combo of Sir Knights in Assembly history.


Get well wishes go out to Father Robert Mason of Our Lady of the Island Council. Father Mason, recently retired after 32 years as Pastor at Our Lady of Lourdes in Massapequa Park, and a long-time supporter of the Knights, is recovering from heart valve replacement surgery, and can’t wait to say Mass again. Grand Knight Bernie Hennelly asks for all to “storm the heavens for prayers” for Fr. Mason’s recovery.


Brian Ennis of New Hyde Park Council, who recently re-designed the Chapter website. The site has garnered rave reviews from all who’ve visited, including State Deputy Art Harris, who praised, “excellent job! Very impressive site.”
